Round 1: SET: The test consists of two multiple choice style papers; a Maths paper and an English paper. Each paper will be about 45 minutes long. The tests do not include verbal reasoning or non verbal reasoning. Round 2: English (1 hour): this paper will be an extended writing task. Maths (45 minutes): this will be a standard maths paper. NOT MULTIPLE CHOICE (NO VR/NVR)For Sutton Grammar School, four standardised scores will be calculated using: (1) the multiple choice items from the English paper on the Selective Eligibility Test; (2) the multiple choice items from the mathematics paper on the Selective Eligibility Test; (3) the English paper in the second stage test and (4) the mathematics paper in the second stage test. The four standardised scores will be weighted in the ratio 2:2:3:3, an age allowance will be added, and the total rounded to the nearest four marks to give the final score (for Wilson's) The rank order of the entrance tests will be determined on the basis of the aggregate scores of the SET and the two elements of the second stage Entrance Examination for Wilson’s School in the ratio 1:2:2. Appropriate adjustment for age will be considered before the aggregate score is calculated.
