Progress Academy is delighted to launch our Winter Writing Contest 2025, inviting young writers in Year 4 and Year 5 to showcase their creativity, imagination, and storytelling skills.

Winter is more than just a season. Sometimes, it’s the moment when everything changes…

Theme:
"When Winter Changed Everything..."
​​
Write a short piece of creative writing inspired by this theme.
Your writing can be:
- A story, diary entry, or letter
- Funny, mysterious, adventurous, or emotional
- Realistic or imaginative
What matters the most is originality, clarity, and strong storytelling.

Competition Details:
​
Eligibility: Open to students in Year 4 and Year 5.
Submission Format: Short story, 750 to 800 words, in PDF format.
Deadline for Submissions: 5th January 2026

Conditions:

Submissions must be original, unpublished work.
One entry per participant.
Stories must adhere to the theme and word count.
The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding results.
All entries must be submitted by the specified deadline.
