The school surpasses the average size for secondary schools and is presently undergoing a program of construction. The majority of students are of White British ethnicity. A small number of students receive education outside the school premises through local work-related educational providers, such as motor mechanics training at Wheels in Stevenage. The sixth form provision is offered through a consortium arrangement with Mount Grace School in Potters Bar. The percentage of disabled students and those with special educational needs receiving support through school action is lower than the national average. Similarly, the proportion supported through school action plus or with a statement of special educational needs is also below average. The percentage of students eligible for the pupil premium, additional government funding for specific groups like those eligible for free school meals or in the care of the local authority, is below the national average. The school meets the government's current floor standards, establishing the minimum expectations for students' attainment and progress. The headteacher has held the position since January 2012.
