Chelmsford County High School for Girls

Chelmsford County High School is a highly selective state grammar school exclusively for girls. Admission into Year 7 at the age of 11 involves a demanding entrance examination, reflecting the intense competition for placement. The academic environment is characterized by a rapid pace, catering to some of the most gifted girls in the country.

Upon reaching 16 years old, all students undergo GCSE examinations at the end of Year 11. The majority of students opt to continue their education in CCHS for the Sixth Form. Additionally, we welcome students from other schools into our Sixth Form, contributing to the diverse student body. These students not only benefit from the school's high academic standards but also immerse themselves in the scholarly ethos that defines our institution.
