The 11 Plus examination for Colyton Grammar School consists of three components:

1. A Mathematics test

2. An English test

3. A Creative Writing paper

The examination is administered by Future Stories Community Enterprise Entrance (FSCE). For girls, proficiency in skills aligned with Key Stage 2 English and Mathematics is expected.

Computer-based marking is employed for the test components, with age standardization implemented to ensure equitable evaluation. All students meeting the eligibility score criteria in the English and Mathematics tests will undergo an assessment of their creative writing element, influencing their overall ranking.
