Homewood School employs the Kent 11 Plus exam structure, encompassing assessments in Reasoning, English, and Maths.


This test is utilized to evaluate the suitability of prospective students for admission to the school and is adopted by the majority, though not all, of the 35 wholly selective and 4 partially selective grammar schools in the region.


The exam format is as follows:

Section 1: A one-hour examination gauging students' reasoning abilities. Comprising shorter segments, the test assesses Verbal Reasoning, Spatial Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning.

Section 2: A one-hour examination evaluating proficiency in English and Maths.

Section 3: A 40-minute writing task, including 10 minutes of preparation time. Although the writing task is not scored for the 11 Plus exam, it may serve as supporting evidence in borderline cases.

Parents who have registered will receive their Kent Test results via email after 4 pm, providing a breakdown of their child's scores. Additionally, results will be accessible online from 5 pm, allowing parents to log in and review the outcomes.

Great institution for 11+ coaching

My son, Akhil had his 11+ coaching in Progress Academy and cleared all 4 tests (Kent, Bexley, CSSE and Redbridge) that he attended. The dedication and individual care provided by Progress Academy to each student is the key reason for this achievement.

There are centres which concluded their coacing by August, a month before the exams, which is a crucial period. But Progress Academy intensified the training in August and continued till the last exam, which helped the students to continue their revisions till exam time. Tutors are approachable for any advise, and have periodic parents meeting.

Its' not only of great quality, but affordable as well. They haven't charged separately for Mock tests conducted almost every week towards the end, which is not the case with many other institutions.
