Originally established in 1483 as Magdalen College School, Skegness Grammar School adopted its present name in 1933. This co-educational day and boarding grammar school, located in the picturesque seaside town of Skegness in Lincolnshire, provides education for approximately 700 students aged 11-18. Formerly recognized as a High Performing Specialist School, Skegness Grammar attained academy status in 2012 and currently operates under the sponsorship of the David Ross Education Trust. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes sciences, technology, social studies, and languages, with a particular emphasis on fostering self-discipline and instilling good manners.

Lincolnshire 11+ Exam consists of two papers comprising of Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Spatial Reasoning.
The Lincolnshire 11+ Exam, developed by GL Assessment, assesses Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, and Spatial Reasoning through a multiple-choice format.
This examination comprises two papers:
The initial paper focuses on Verbal Reasoning, lasting for 50 minutes and featuring 80 questions. Various question types are presented in concise sections.
The second paper is administered a week later, encompassing Non-Verbal Reasoning and Spatial Reasoning. This paper comprises five sections, each lasting 7 minutes and containing 14 questions. The first three sections address Non-Verbal Reasoning, while the last two sections pertain to Spatial Reasoning.
