Southend High School for Girls

Founded in 1913, Southend High School for Girls is a grammar school located on Southchurch Boulevard in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, serving students aged 11 to 18, with a current enrollment exceeding 1200 pupils.

The school's ambitious and meticulously planned curriculum aims to equip students for higher education and enhance their career prospects by fostering the knowledge and skills necessary for success. This is achieved through the establishment of a strong foundation in core subjects such as mathematics, science, and English, with a focus on addressing the needs of both high-ability and disadvantaged students.

The educational experience is further enriched by a diverse range of extracurricular and super curricular programs. Pupils are encouraged to approach challenges with a positive attitude, fostering resilience.

The school has established a strong reputation for academic achievement, with students consistently excelling in GCSE and A-Level exams and subsequently securing placements in top-tier universities. In a recent assessment, Ofsted bestowed the school with an "Outstanding" rating.

Why Progress Academy for
Southend High School for Girls

Progress Academy is one of the best things that happened in our daughter's life. She was an average student when she joined Progress Academy. The materials that were given to her and the tests, practice and coaching and more than everything, the personal care taken by Prakash and Hema provided a huge boost to her. She learnt so many things and showed remarkable improvement. She has managed to get a good score in CSSE and has got admission into Colchester County High School for Girls, which is one of the best grammar schools.

Without the effort taken by Progress Academy, our daughter's success would have been impossible. The way they organize classes and cover the syllabus for the exams is remarkable and ensures that the children get enough practice and can take the exam confidently. - Manivannan Nadarajan
