We are thrilled to unveil the winners of the much-anticipated Winter Writing Competition 2024. This year, we invited young writers to weave tales under the inspiring theme, "A short story that inspires mankind to be kind and care for one another." The entries we received were nothing short of remarkable, illustrating the boundless creativity and compassion of our young participants.

After much deliberation and being moved by many heartfelt narratives, we are proud to announce the winners:

• Year 5 Winner: Rethushna - Rethushna's story stood out for its profound message and the unique way it engaged the reader. Her narrative took us on a journey that not only entertained but also imparted a powerful lesson on the importance of empathy and mutual care.

• Year 4 Winner: Shrinjal - Shrinjal's submission captivated the judges with its imaginative approach to the theme. Her story beautifully illustrated how acts of kindness, no matter how small, can have a ripple effect, fostering a sense of community and togetherness.

Both Rethushna and Shrinjal demonstrated exceptional storytelling prowess, aligning perfectly with our theme and touching the hearts of the judging panel. Their stories remind us of the impact that kindness and caring can have on the world, a message that is more important now than ever.

As winners, Rethushna and Shrinjal will each receive a £50 Amazon voucher, a token of appreciation for their outstanding contributions and a means to encourage their budding literary talents.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Rethushna and Shrinjal and our sincere thanks to all the participants who shared their stories with us. Each entry was a testament to the power of words and the young writers' ability to envision a kinder, more compassionate world.
