The 11 Plus tests at Sutton Grammar School are conducted in two stages:
Stage 1: Both Maths and English tests are multiple-choice and have a duration of approximately 45 minutes each. This Standardized Entrance Test (SET) is coordinated with other local schools in Sutton. Success in the SET determines a boy's eligibility for the second stage test.
Stage 2: In this stage, neither the Maths nor the English tests are multiple-choice. The Maths section includes standard format questions, while the English paper involves a Writing task that necessitates a response to a provided prompt.
